WHAT IS A FWB CARAVAN/HUMANITARIAN MISSION?

Guided by the values upheld by Fraternity Without Borders (FWB) and driven by the vision of “changing the world,” instilling confidence in the possibility of a better world through benevolent actions, the “FWB Caravan” was conceived. This unique initiative offers individuals the chance to embark on a fraternal journey that will forever leave a mark on their hearts.

To uphold the FWB mission’s values and actively contribute to transforming lives, our humanitarian endeavors adopt a compassionate, respectful, technically sound, and thoughtful approach in the locations where our projects are based. Every activity we engage in is guided by a strong ethical compass, moral principles, and transparent guidelines.

Our caravans are entirely voluntary and are designed to provide participants with a profound fraternal experience, inspiring everyone to become agents of positive change. Moreover, they aim to immerse participants in the local realities they encounter, including both the challenges and vulnerabilities, as well as the rich cultural and human tapestry they will discover. Whether it’s the resilience of the African people, who teach us about humility and purity, or the shared bonds with our brothers and sisters, we approach these experiences with an attitude of service, offering affection, discipline, respect, cooperation, and compassion.

It’s important to note that these caravans complement the ongoing projects carried out by FWB. They are organized with the involvement of sponsors who are passionate about volunteer work, contributing their personal or technological expertise, as well as professional skills.

By enrolling in our caravans, you’re preparing for an experience that has the power to transform your life. At the core of our philosophy is the African concept of “Ubuntu” – “I am because we are.” Your heartfelt service will be warmly received by the individuals assisted by our projects, individuals who have been living in challenging conditions with limited access to food and resources, yet they continue to hold onto the hope that brighter days are on the horizon.

CARAVAN TO MADAGASCAR AND MALAWI

What are the goals of these caravans?

The primary goal of these caravans are to provide our volunteers with the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Fraternity Without Borders’ operations within each project. Through your participation, you’ll carry back with you the invaluable experience of unity, fostering a sense of shared purpose and connection.

There are diverse opportunities available at our project in Malawi and Madagascar, encompassing roles working with children, womens, mans, teachers, parents, support staff, and much more. We extend a warm welcome to everyone who wishes to join us on this meaningful journey.

If you’re already familiar with the project and have ideas for activities that could enrich our mission, we encourage you to share your proposals during the registration process. Your input and creativity are highly valued as we work together to make a positive impact.

When is planned to happen? How long does it last?

Malawi – April, 2026: The humanitarian work will be from April 27th to May 05th. The volunteers arrive in Malawi on April 26th and depart on May 6th, 2026.

Madagascar – July, 2026: The humanitarian work will be from July 24th to August 05th. The volunteers needs to arrive in Madagascar on July 25th and depart on August 06th, 2026.

Madagascar – November, 2026: The humanitarian work will be from November 22nd to December 05th. The volunteers needs to arrive in Madagascar on November 24th and depart on August 06th, 2026.

How much does it cost? How do I pay for it?

Flight Costs: Volunteers are responsible for booking their inbound and outbound flights to and from the country. You’ll handle these expenses once your participation in the caravan is confirmed. Remember, booking your tickets early often means lower prices, so keep that in mind.

On-Site Expenses: During your stay, there will be expenses for ground transportation, accommodation, delicious meals and beverages, as well as for our invaluable translators and dedicated maintenance staff. In Malawi, each volunteer will contribute with US$700 for this caravan. In Madagascar, each volunteer will contribute US$1,300 for this caravan.

Additional Expenses: Depending on your home country, there may be extra costs for visas, vaccines, health insurance, and COVID tests. Please note that these expenses are not covered by the amount mentioned above. Don’t worry, our caravan coordinator will provide you with detailed information and guidance to help you navigate these requirements.

With this role comes great responsibility, as it involves becoming an active part of the lives of individuals who are extraordinarily vulnerable and who, at times, have been overlooked by society.

To ensure your purpose aligns seamlessly with that of FWB, it is vital that you:

Not Just Tourism: Remember that FWB humanitarian caravans are not designed for social tourism. Your presence and efforts are driven by a genuine desire to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those we serve.
Register and Attend Orientation: To begin your journey with us, ensure you’re registered for the caravan and participate in the monthly orientation session, where you’ll receive valuable insights and guidance.
